course around my schedule
This works fine: The ability to have a "real" teacher improves
the course when compared to the usual on-line environment.
This could be improved: The occasional relapse into what I thought
was Martian, but I bet is Swedish, needs to be corrected..there was one
exercise that I couldn't do because the answers were in Martian...oops
Swedish.
Overall impression: superb product! I would recommend it to anyone.

I am satisfied with: My teacher Silvia, who has been very encouraging and supportive. Quick marking of assignments and answers to questions. Linguaweb values student feedback and suggestions for improvements.
This could be improved: Only my own study discipline.
Overall impression: A very good course, easy to use, an engaging tutor. The assignments with audio files are good, since the tutor can comment on your pronunciation.
Other remarks: I am interested in continuing on the next level.

I am satisfied with: Almost everything, but sometimes I find it difficult to follow the listening comprehension. I think they speak too fast sometimes and that the audio quality could be improved.
This could be improved: Audio files where they speak slower and repeat more.
Overall impression: Very good!

I am satisfied with: I am very satisfied with this course!
This could be improved: Can't think of anything.
Overall impression: This way of studying suits me PERFECTLY and I would definately recommend it to people my age (adults) with some knowledge of Spanish. It is perfect to have a personal tutor who explains and gives feedback in a pedagogic way. Feels personal even though we only meet over the Internet.
Other remarks: Good "links" and lots of extra study resources if you have the time.

Previous Spanish studies: I have studied on my own using the same book (Español 2000), but I have never taken a Spanish class before. We live in Gran Canaria (Spain), but unfortunately we have no Spanish friends.
My reasons for studying online: For the teacher support and the possibility to continue studying in the summer.
I am satisfied with: Everything, so far. I am very impressed with the quick responses to assignments, the close and personal tutor contact, and the excellent technical support.
This could be improved: Nothing!
Overall impression: I really enjoy it!
Other remarks: I hope to improve my listening comprehension. I still have problems identifying the Spanish sounds.

My reasons for studying online: Very practical.
I am satisfied with: Everything has worked very well.
This could be improved: Nothing.
Overall impression: On the whole, it works perfectly. Although, I find it annoying that not all words can be found in Linguaweb's online dictionary and therefore have to be looked up in other dictionaries. I also think that the listening comprehension exercises are too difficult sometimes, they speak too fast. But except for that, I have only positive things to say about this course. I really appreciate the close contact with my tutor, who marks assignments quickly and also supports and inspires me by showing a personal interest in my studies.
Other remarks: I will continue on the Intermediate level, since I believe this is one of the best ways to learn Spanish.

Previous Spanish studies: Just some words that I learned from an
"amiga", no regular Spanish classes.
My reasons for studying online: I study online because I can set
the speed myself and study every lesson in depth before I deliver my assignments.
I am satisfied with: The marking of assignments has worked very
well, and all my questions have been answered.
This could be improved: Maybe the online drills should let a missing
accent pass as a correct answer.
Overall impression: Altogether I think this is an excellent course.
Every lesson includes a thorough explanation of the topic, and when you
combine the textbook with the online material it is a perfect tool for
learning Spanish.
Other remarks: I am Norwegian, but I haven't had any problems studying
with a Swedish-speaking tutor. The markings of my assignments have been
detailed and very informative. (You learn from your mistakes). The course
is both amusing and thrilling, and once you have delivered an assignment
you can't wait to read the marking. You feel that you get a personal contact
with your tutor, and I believe this is essential in a learning situation.
I thank you for this course, and I am looking forward to continue on the
intermediate level soon.

My reasons for studying online: I have a full-time job, but I have
always wanted to learn Spanish. It is a beautiful and important language
spoken by many people around me.
I am satisfied with: The contact with my tutor has been excellent.
Quick response to assignments, practical suggestions for improvements
and a nice, encouraging attitude when I make mistakes. Online studying
is very convenient. I have used the book for extra material on topics
where I needed to more exercises, but most of the time the online material
has been enough. The automatic online drills are excellent, so are the
vocabulary flashcards! It's a very efficient method for building up your
vocabulary.
This could be improved: The only "problem" I have encountered
has been words missing in Linguaweb's online dictionary. I think therefore
that a Spanish dictionary should be included in the course fee, together
with the book Español 2000.
Overall impression: A very good investment! First I thought it was
a bit expensive, but it proved to be worth it. I can now read Spanish
texts without greater problems, I follow easier Spanish conversations
on TV, and I have the courage to speak Spanish, now and then, to people
I know.
Other remarks: I am a language student
at university level, so I haven't had any problems following this course.
One should know that in some lessons it is an advantage to have a basic
knowledge of grammatical terms. It helps if you know what future tense,
subject and imperative mean in your own language before you start studying
Spanish online. I wouldn't say it is necessary, but if you don't know
it I guess you have to work a little harder!

to work and study on your own.

I am satisfied with: I've had good contact with my teacher as well
as with the technical support department, but you must also have a good
study technique yourself to succeed in distance learning.
This could be improved: Nothing that I can think of.
Overall impression: I thought it would
be more difficult to study via the Internet. I miss having contact with
other students, but I will definitely continue with the next course, Intermediate
Spanish, and I believe I will it enjoy it just as much."

Intermediate Spanish
This course is incredibly good. It is a well-balanced mix of grammar, reading comprehension, listening comprehension and pronounciation exercises. I have always received quick and comprehensive answers to my assignments and other questions. This is really private tutoring in the best sense of the word! I didn't think distance learning could work so smoothly and be so efficient. My background is about one year of self studies. I tried an evening class at first, but I wasn't satisifed. To get the most out of the course, I study quite a lot every week.
First I thought I would have technical problems and get huge phone bills since I don't have a broadband Internet access, but that has not been the case at all. The way the course material is designed, it is quite possible to work offline as well.

It's fun to study Spanish in this way! My background is about
one year of Spanish studies. Everything has been good about this course.
I study via the Internet because it suits me perfectly, since I can study
whenever I want during the day. I also appreciate the quick correction
of assignments and feedback on questions and technical support issues.
